DDL of the Day [Coachella 2012 Edition]: “Nantes” by Beirut
Coachella 2012 Artist: Beirut
I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am to see Beirut at this year’s Coachella. Zachary Francis Condon, Beirut’s founding member and lead vocalist/instrumentalist, associates himself with a handful of acts (Alaska in Winter being another one of my favorites), but I think his genius displays most beautifully in Beirut. Everything about Beirut’s music steals my attention. Each composition is passionate and uplifting, and Condon’s voice blends seamlessly with the French-influenced instrumentals. I’ve been listening to this band since I was sixteen-years-old. I am a little embarrassed it’s taken me this long to see them perform live, but I am so happy I finally get the chance to this year.

Dani Gee
